Askot is a small city situated in Pithoragarh district of the state of Uttarakhand. Askot is actually famous for the Askot Musk Deer Sanctuary which is an important place for conserving the musk deer. It is located at an altitude of 5400 ft. there is a wide variety of animals and different birds such as chukoras, snow cock, bear, serow, etc in Askot Sanctuary.
Panchuli and Chiplakot peaks form the backdrop for Askot. The town has Nepal to the east, Almora to the west, Pithoragarh to the south and Tibet in the north. Askot lies on a ridge on the route between Dharchula and Pithoragarh. The city lies on the popular Kailash-Mansarovar Pilgrimage route. Askot is a stunningly beautiful location. Its’ unique bio-system has immense contribution to the mystique in a broad way. That’s why Ascot has been identified as an area of high agro-biodiversity.

By Air: The nearest Airport will be Pantnagar which is approximately 350 km away from Askot.
By Rail: From Askot, the nearest railway station will be Kathgodam, which is about approximately about 280 km from Askot. From here, you can easily hire taxis and buses to reach Askot. Reaching Askot by train is pretty much better and comfortable.
By Road: Askot is accessible by road through Pithoragarh which is at a distance of 55 kms from Tanakpur - Pithoragarh, or through Haldwani – Almora, at a distance of 150 kms approximtely from Kathgodam main city.
