Binsar Mahadev Temple is one of the ancient Hindu temples located at Bisaona near Ranikhet in Uttarakhand. Mainly the temple is around at a distance of 18 km from Ranikhet. This temple is surrounded by thick refreshing deodar forests. This is noted as one of the most worshiped temples in Uttarakhand.
The Binsar Mahadev Temple is for Lord Shiva. Pilgrims come here to worship lord Shiva who is known here as Bindeshwar. The temple was established in 10th century during the age of King Pithu in memory of his father Bindu, that’s why this temple is also well-known as Bindeshwar temple. The temple also holds a remarkable value for other god and goddess such as Lord Ganesha, Goddess Gauri and Goddess Mahisasuramardini. The worshipped idol of lord Mahisasuramardini is engraved with texts in Nagarilipi which is created during around 9th century.
The temple is famous for its fine architectural beauty. It is believed that the Binsar Mahadev temple was set up in a single day. The surroundings of the temple offer people with beautiful scenery of fresh water springs and the green cedar forests. It is a unique destination for meditation and picnic. The temple also has an ashram for worshipers nearby which are actually dedicated to Binsar Mahadev.
A huge number of pilgrims came here on the eve of Baikunth Chaturdashi in the month of June. It is said that visitors, especially women, pray for all night with lamps carrying in their hands on this day for achieving the Lord's blessings. Binsar Mahadev is famous for its Archeological significances too. There is also a wildlife Sanctuary.

By Air: Pantnagar airport will be the most preferred airport which is situated at a distance of 152 km from Binsar. Pantnagar is connected to Delhi airport by daily flights. People can book taxies to reach Binsar.
By Rail: The nearest railway station will be Kathgodam which is approximately 119 km away from Binsar and Kathgodam is also connected important cities like Kolkata, Delhi which is also an advantage.
By Road: Binsar is connected by road with many popular places of Kumaon and other northern cities. Taxis and buses are well-available from major cities of Kumaon to Binsar.
