TThe Hindu temple of Madmaheshwar is dedicated to Lord Shiva, which is located in the Mansoona village of the Garhwal Himalayas in the state of Uttarakhand. The temple has its location at the elevation of 3,497 mts (11,473 ft) and is the fourth temple that can be visited in the Pilgrimage circuit of Panch Kedar that comprises of five Shiva temples in the region of Garhwal. Various other temples in the circuit includes: Tugnath, Rudranath and Kedarnath which can be visited in Kalepshware and Madmaheshwar.
For a traveller the small pilgrimage town of Madmaheshwar is a landscaped heaven. Being mystically surrounded with snow-capped Himalayan peaks on right and dense forests that act as a great backdrop this town completely soothes a traveller’s mind. Just add a few village houses, shepherd huts and the ancient temple of Madmaheshwar with the picturesque beauty of the mountains and you complete this entire town. The temple’s architecture style is north Indian classic.
The roads that connect you to other towns would reach upto Ransi from where travellers need to go through a 16 km long trek to reach the sacred town of Madmaheshwar. At the temple site visitors would experience the glory of entire village with their large gathering at the aarti performed in the evening. Within the temple premises one can surely feel the abundance of spiritual vibes flowing through self. The months between November and April mark the closing time for temple. The name of the temple is generally referred as Madhyamaheshwar meaning “The Drunken God”.

By Air: The airport of Jolly Grant is the closest one to the town of Madhmaheshwar at a distance of around 198kms. The airport connects the town to major cities in India.
By Rail: The closest rail head linked well to the major destinations of the state is the Rishikesh railway station which is at around 174 kms away from the town. Buses and taxis can be hired from the town of Srinagar and Rishikesh for ISBT Kashmiri Gate.
By Road: The little town of Ukhimath is linked well through highways that connect with all the major destinations of the state of Uttarakhand. One can get there through various buses that are available through the Srinagar and Rishikesh that are available from the Kashmiri Gate ISBT, Delhi.
