The scenic town of Vishnu Prayag has a diversified history with the arrival of travellers annually. This holy little town was named after legendary story of sage Narada who also performed different types of penance for pleasing Lord Vishnu. The town of Vishnuprayag was located at an elevation of around 1370 mts above the sea level in the district of Chamoli, Uttarakhand, India. More importantly the town is famous for the confluence of the holy rivers of Dhauli Ganga and Alaknanda. In this town the huge river of Alaknanda is also known as the Vishnu Ganga. The suspension rope bridge is also required for crossing the mighty river of Alaknanda. The site of Vishnu Prayag is known to be the fifth of the Panch Prayags. How To Reach
By Air: Travellers can board or depart at the nearest Airport of Jolly Grant, in Dehradun which is 283 kms away from the holy town. Motorable roads connect both these towns.
By Rail: The closest railhead is the town of Rishikesh which is located at around 263 away from the town. Taxis and buses can be easily availed from the holy town of Rishikesh to reach Vishnuprayag.
By Road: One can board buses from the Kashmiri Gate ISBT, Delhi and from here on one can easily reach Dehradun. From Dehradun onwards there are lot of taxis available that would take a traveller to the town of Vishnuprayag.
