The Vasuki Tal is a high altitude lake nestled at a breathtaking elevation of 4463 mts/14638 ft above sea level. The trekking difficulty to this site is considered to be moderate or a tough one. The beautiful glacial lake is located 8 kms away from the temple of Kedarnath, in the Rudraprayag district of the Dev Bhoomi of Uttarakhand. The enchanting lake has various stories associated with the ancient Puranas. It is believed that in ancient times Lord Vishnu also bathed in the lake.
The lake reveals crystal clear water that penetrates through the lakes bottom while relieving rectangular rock stacks with amazing views in the Vasuki Tal. Due to the systematic rock formations visitors get astonished believing that these were arranged by someone. For an avid trekker reaching this site would be a challenging as well as a fun task. Accompanying a trekking guide would be a great measure to be on the right route. The trek commences through the picturesque site of Gaurikund through Rambara while reaching Garur Chatti and finally travellers can make way through Kedarnath temple.
Trekkers completely get fascinated upon looking at the beautiful sacred river of Mandakini which has a downward flow through the Kedarnath temple route. Looking at the weather conditions of the region and the trekking route, the place can be suitable for a visit at the time of summer. Because of the lower temperatures and extreme cold trek to Vasuki tal isn’t possible at the time of winters. Also, reaching in here gets difficult at monsoon months due to road blockages and landslides.
